(May 20, 2026) A fire burned down our field office in Ambinanitelo, Maroantsetra district, on May 4, 2026. All WCS staff present at the time were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.  The incident is currently under investigation by the relevant Malagasy authorities. WCS is not in a position to provide further information at this time.
